Andrea 13 Jun, 2023Communication and Checkin: We never received any emails from the host. I was contacted by Travelstay prior to the trip and it included a message to the host to remind them to communicate with us on check in. None was received so I emailed them. Still no communication. When we arrived in Spain, I messaged via whatsapp. 4 hours later we received a message about picking up keys. The listing says they do luggage storage, but that was not available as there was no response. We ended up paying for storage a couple blocks away. The listing shows the host is Fernando, but I have seen this same properly listed with other host names. I think it is just a rental company. Property: It is like in the pictures. There is plenty of room. It is on the top floor of the building and there is one other apartment on that floor. There is a small elevator. There is no view unless you hang outside one of the windows. There also is a small patio that is surrounded by all walls but nice to sit outside. The noise level isn't bad with the windows closed. With it open, it is just the murmur of the streets. It seems updated but the fit and finish is a bit off. The cabinets in the bedrooms scrape the floors when opening, some cabinets don't close right as they are a bit off. Is was pretty clean, but could use a deep cleaning where all is wiped down. Bathrooms: There are two bathrooms and two showers (small). The shower head on one could only be hand held as it didn't fit in the fixture. Towels were provided and there were enough. They were clean. One of the towel racks was loose or not installed properly as it would fall if any towel was placed on it. Bedrooms/bedding: The beds were pretty comfortable (both queen), but the sheets were pretty worn and thin. The sofa in the living room also pulled out to a bed and there was extra bedding. Supplies: The only toilet paper was the rolls on the spool in the bathrooms. There were no spare rolls. There was also no paper towels or auto-dish detergent. We had to go to Corte de Ingles across the street to purchase. Kitchen: The kitchen had enough plates, cups, etc. There was a refrigerator, stove, oven, hot water kettle that worked well and a microwave. There was also a clothes washer. No dryer but there were drying racks that can be put outside. Location: The best part of the apartment is the location. It is just off of Puerta del Sol. It is all pedestrian streets in that area with plenty of shopping. There is the Corte de Ingles across the street which has a really good grocery and starbucks in the basement. The subway is right across the street too. Easy walking to anywhere in the city. Overall: I would recommend this place because of the size and location, but don't anticipate good communication from the host.read more
